ARLINGTON, Texas, September 19 \u2014 In most cases, Major League Baseball teams can’t wait to be back in their own ballpark after a long road trip. The thought of sleeping in your own bed, and eating some home cooking is usually very enticing. However, the opposite could be said for the Texas Rangers<\/a>, in this case. The Rangers are coming off a less than spectacular homestand. They lost five out of the seven games that they played at Globe Life Field this past week. Their series finale against the Chicago White Sox<\/a> on Sunday was no different.<\/p>\n For this game, the Texas Rangers gave the ball to righty Jordan Lyles. They were hoping for a prolonged outing out of Lyles, but it never materialized. He pitched 3.2 innings and gave up five runs, all earned, on eight hits. He also gave up one home run to Yasmani Grandal. After taking the loss today, his record for the 2021 season now stands at 9-12. Lucas Giolito got the win for Chicago. He went 5.1 innings, giving up one earned run on six hits. He walked one and struck out four. Giolito now has a record of 10-9.<\/p>\n The White Sox got things going in the top of the fourth inning. First came the home run from Grandal to give the South-siders a 1-0 lead. It was the 22nd homer by Grandal this year. Then Cesar Hernandez made it 3-0 on a two-run single. Gavin Sheets and Leury Garcia were the men on base. Later in the inning, Jose Abreu brought in two more with a single of his own that scored Hernandez and Tim Anderson. Their final pair of runs came in the top of the seventh inning. This time, Garcia drove in Abreu and Billy Hamilton with a double t0 give Chicago seven runs. The touchdown was all they needed to secure the win.<\/p>\n The Texas Rangers, meanwhile, got their first tally in the bottom of the fifth inning. Isiah Kiner-Falefa singled to right field to drive in DJ Peters. This would make the score 5-1 for the time being. Their final run would have to wait until the bottom of the eighth inning. This time, it was Kiner-Falefa who scored the run. It happened on a sac-fly to centerfield off the bat of Adolis Garcia.<\/p>\n Starting on Monday, the Texas Rangers embark on a seven-game road trip.
