ARLINGTON, Texas, September 15 – The momentum from Tuesday night’s Astros\/Rangers game sadly didn’t carry over to the next night for the Texas Rangers<\/a>. The Houston Astros<\/a> took the third game of this series on Wednesday by a final score of 7-2. The Rangers are hoping for a series split on Thursday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM CDT. Here is a look at the events of Wednesday’s contest at Globe Life Field.<\/p>\n Wednesday night was similar to a round of poker. The Texas Rangers were working with a pair. More specifically, a pair of runs. They scored twice during the night. Their first run came in the bottom of the third inning. Brock Holt crossed the plate on a ground out by Yonny Hernandez. The run that would complete the pair came in the bottom of the ninth. This one also came on a groundout. This time, it was Nathaniel Lowe at the dish. The runner that scored on the play was Willie Calhoun.<\/p>\n The Astros fared better in the poker game. They dealt starter Jose Urquidy three of a kind, as in three more home runs than the Rangers were dealt. Houston started shuffling in the top of the second inning. Their first two runs came on a homer from the bat of Jake Meyers. Kyle Tucker was on base at the time. Their second blast came in the same inning. A solo shot from Marwin Gonzalez would make it 3-0 in favor of Houston. The home runs would stop for the time being. In the top of the fourth, Chas McCormick drove in Yuli Gurriel and Kyle Tucker with a single. The lead would stretch to 6-1 in the top of the fifth. Jose Altuve scored on a double by Yordan Alvarez. Finally, the third home run was hit by Tucker in the top of the eighth inning.<\/p>\n Right-hander Kohei Arihara was on the hill for the Texas Rangers on Wednesday. He pitched four innings, giving up six runs, all earned, on eight hits. Two of those hits were home runs. He didn’t walk anyone and struck out one. He took the loss, and his record now stands at 2-4. Righty Jose Urquidy got the win for the Astros, bringing his record to 7-3 on the year. He went six innings and gave up one earned run on two hits.
