ARLINGTON, Texas, July 31 – The Texas Rangers<\/a> lost once again on Friday evening. This time, it was to the Seattle Mariners<\/a> at Globe Life Field. The Rangers trailed the entire time and just couldn’t catch a break. The final score was 9-5. These two foes play the second of three on Saturday at 6:05 PM CDT. It will be a matchup of lefties. Tyler Anderson will get the ball for Seattle, and Taylor Hearn will start for the Rangers. Meanwhile, here’s what happened on Friday night.<\/p>\n Seattle got things started in the top of the second inning. Abraham Toro scored on a bases-loaded walk to Dylan Moore. In the same inning, Tom Murphy scored on a J.P. Crawford groundout. They would score two more runs in the inning. Both on a fielder’s choice hit by Mitch Haniger, and a throwing error. Jarred Kelenic and Dylan Moore scored the runs. In the top of the third, Kelenic hit a three-run shot to right field, making it 7-0. They also scored in the top of the 7th. This time, on an RBI single by Kyle Seager that allowed Ty France to cross home. They scored their final run in the top of the 9th. Once again, Kelenic drove in a run by grounding into a force out. This allowed Seager to score.<\/p>\n The\u00a0 Texas Rangers started their scoring in the bottom of the fourth. Adolis Garcia scored on a Nate Lowe single to center field. Then in the bottom of the fifth inning, Isiah Kiner-Falefa grounded to short. This sent Curtis Terry home. Their last three runs would all come on solo home runs. The first was hit by Garcia in the bottom of the sixth. Three batters later, Jonah Heim joined in with a solo shot. Then it was Jason Martin who hit the last bomb in the bottom of the seventh. That is where their luck would run out.<\/p>\n Lefty Kolby Allard got the ball for the Rangers in the opener. He only threw three innings and gave up seven runs, six earned, on six hits. Allard walked three and struck out three. He also gave up Kelenic’s home run. He took the loss, moving his record to 2-9 on the year.
