The two top seeds in the NL, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/mlb-teams\/atlanta-braves\/\" target=\"_self\">Atlanta Braves<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/mlb-teams\/los-angeles-dodgers\/\" target=\"_self\">Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a>\u00a0will square off in a best of seven series for the right to go to the World Series. This should be an interesting offensive matchup that attracts lots of baseball fans hoping to see whether someone can end the Dodgers\u2019 dominance in the league.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Atlanta Braves<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Braves have a very talented core of young ballplayers which has been at the root of their success the past couple of seasons. They have won five straight games this postseason, sweeping the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/mlb-teams\/cincinnati-reds\/\" target=\"_self\">Cincinnati Reds<\/a> in two games and NL East rival <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/mlb-teams\/miami-marlins\/\" target=\"_self\">Miami Marlins<\/a> in three. The Braves got hot at exactly the right time and were able to handle two very good pitching staffs. Whether they stay hot will help determine this series against Los Angeles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There were question marks about the Braves rotation before the postseason, but those questions have been answered so far in the affirmative. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/f\/friedma01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Max Fried<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/a\/anderia01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ian Anderson<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/w\/wrighky01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Kyle Wright<\/strong><\/a> stepped up and pitched well for Atlanta. Moreover, a first-rate bullpen led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/matzety01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Tyler Matzek<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/minteaj01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A.J. Minter<\/a>,<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/melanma01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mark Melancon<\/strong><\/a> should serve as a bulwark should issues emerge with the starters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The offense, though, is the key to the Braves\u2019 success in 2020. It is led by perennial MVP candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/f\/freemfr01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Freddie Freeman<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> who has been having a monstrous season. However, offseason acquisition <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/o\/ozunama01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Marcell Ozuna<\/strong><\/a> has also been putting up MVP-like numbers. The supporting cast of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/a\/acunaro01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ronald Acuna Jr.<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/s\/swansda01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dansby Swanson<\/a>, <\/strong>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/a\/albieoz01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ozzie Albies<\/strong><\/a> make the Braves lineup formidable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Los Angeles Dodgers<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Dodgers have been here before&#8211;in 2016-18&#8211;and they know what it takes to get to the World Series. That experience will help any team in the playoffs and Los Angeles has plenty of it. But that experience is complemented by a large dose of talent and depth. That was demonstrated by their sweep of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/mlb-teams\/san-diego-padres\/\" target=\"_self\">San Diego Padres<\/a> in the Division Series.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los Angeles pitching is so deep that there are no breaks in that staff. The rotation has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/k\/kershcl01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Clayton Kershaw<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/buehlwa01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Walker Buehler<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/maydu01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Dustin May<\/strong><\/a> leading the way, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/g\/gonsoto01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Tony Gonsolin<\/strong><\/a> has been so good in 2020 that the team feels comfortable pitching him in crucial situations. The bullpen is very deep as well. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=kellyjo05,kellyjo04,kellyjo03,kelly-005joe&amp;search=Joe+Kelly&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Joe Kelly<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/g\/gratebr01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Brusdar Graterol<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/t\/treinbl01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Blake Treinen<\/strong><\/a> are having phenomenal seasons as they have helped dominate other great lineups this season like San Diego\u2019s. The only question mark is the closer role, in which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/j\/janseke01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Kenley Jansen<\/strong><\/a> has not been that effective. The Dodgers must decide on a closer, or the ninth-inning could be an adventure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los Angeles has a great offense as well and it can go toe-to-toe with Atlanta\u2019s. The acquisition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bettsmo01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mookie Betts<\/strong><\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/mlb-teams\/boston-red-sox\/\" target=\"_self\">Boston Red Sox<\/a> has paid great dividends as he could possibly win the MVP.
