His epic bat flips after two homers last week provide evidence that he can walk the walk too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the real question is can the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/mlb-teams\/san-diego-padres\/\" target=\"_self\">San Diego Padres<\/a> get past the dominant <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/mlb-teams\/los-angeles-dodgers\/\" target=\"_self\">Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> in the National League Division Series? Considering they must do what they have only done once in the last 13 contests against LA, (yes, they\u2019ve at least won one series) the odds are low. The Padres\u2019 4-6 record against them this year is the best it has been since the Dodgers\u2019 long and dominant reign of NL West division began in 2013. Since then, the Dodgers are <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/mcubed.net\/mlb\/sd\/la.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">94-49<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> against San Diego.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, Comeback Kids and Rally Cap Warriors make up this team. They can do it\u2013they\u2019ve done it all season long.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">San Diego announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/c\/clevimi01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mike Clevinger<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> otherwise known as &#8220;Sunshine&#8221;, will make the Game 1 start versus Dodgers\u2019 ace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/buehlwa01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Walker Buehler<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> Unfortunately, they\u2019ll be without their best pitcher, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lametdi01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Dinelson Lamet<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> Many people may wonder how San Diego&#8217;s pitching is this questionable heading into one of the franchise\u2019s biggest matchups in history. But let\u2019s all remember\u2013pitching has never been San Diego\u2019s strong suit. It may have kept the Padres afloat every game, but it\u2019s their offense that carried them here.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Dodgers are in familiar territory. They know the feeling of playing in an NLDS all too well. But they\u2019re also familiar with losing once they get there. Even though they\u2019re picked by analysts as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/first-mlb-power-rankings-of-2020\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">number one team<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> nearly every pre-season and regarded as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/mlb\/2020\/09\/22\/baseball-world-series-power-rankings-october\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">best team in baseball<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> year after year, they have a hard time turning their success into postseason hardware.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the Padres? They haven\u2019t stepped foot here since 2006. Some doubted they&#8217;d even get past the Wild Card Series. Maybe this rare familiarity proves to be too much pressure for this young team. Or maybe, they\u2019ll do what they\u2019ve done all season long.
