The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonbaseball.com\/mlb-teams\/miami-marlins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miami Marlins<\/a> outbreak of the virus has seen 19 players have tested positive for COVID-19 including Marlins pitcher <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/u\/urenajo01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jos\u00e9 Ure\u00f1a<\/a><\/strong>. This has led to many questions about MLB&#8217;s protocols and testing. MLB has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlbtraderumors.com\/2020\/07\/mlb-announces-scheduling-changes-following-marlins-outbreak.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">postponed several games<\/a> this week due to coronavirus.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Marlins have 4 more positive Covid tests in results that are back this morning. That\u2019s 19 in traveling party who\u2019ve been positive since they went on first trip.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JonHeyman\/status\/1288116704074067968?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">July 28, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>Orioles vs Marlins<\/h2>\n<p>After the Marlins and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonbaseball.com\/mlb-teams\/baltimore-orioles\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baltimore Orioles<\/a> came off incredible upsets in their opening series, the home opener for Miami between these teams was postponed. After several Marlins players tested positive for COVID-19, MLB postponed the entire Orioles-Marlins. The series originally featured the Marlins against the Orioles for two games in Miami before playing the final two games at Camden Yards.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #111111; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 27px;\">Yankees vs Phillies<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonbaseball.com\/mlb-teams\/new-york-yankees\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Yankees<\/a>&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonbaseball.com\/mlb-teams\/philadelphia-phillies\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> are also postponed as the Phillies just played against the Marlins this past weekend. The Yankees were playing in Philadelphia for a two-games before traveling to the Bronx for a two-game set. The Phillies made an attempt at trying to play against the Yankees in Philadelphia by disinfecting the away clubhouse. Although zero Phillies players are positive for the virus, the series is postponed for health safety concerns.<\/p>\n<h2>Marlins vs Nationals<\/h2>\n<p>The Marlins will also be forced to postpone their series against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonbaseball.com\/mlb-teams\/washington-nationals\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Nationals<\/a>. With MLB postponing all Marlins games through Sunday, this series is also on hold. The Nationals are already dealing with other schedule changes. Due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonbaseball.com\/mlb-teams\/toronto-blue-jays\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> being forced to relocate for the 2020 season, the Blue Jays home games against the Nationals were moved to the nations capital.<\/p>\n<h2>Yankees vs Orioles Rescheduled.<\/h2>\n<p>In place of the Yankees vs Phillies the Yankees will head to Baltimore to take on the Orioles. This two-game set takes place Wednesday and Thursday. The Yankees were scheduled to play their home opener on Wednesday, but they will now play their opener Friday against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonbaseball.com\/mlb-teams\/boston-red-sox\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston Red Sox<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Moving Forward<\/h2>\n<p>With coronavirus spiking all around the country, uncerainty fills the rest of the 2020 season. MLB is in a really tough position right now with the Miami Marlins outbreak. Many people speculate that a cancellation or pause of the season is necessary. Rob Manfred has said that he believes the MLB protocols are working.
