Muncy did not sign with the Indians and decided to enroll at Baylor University. In three seasons as a Baylor Bear Muncy batted .311 with 27 HR. Muncy also made the All-Big 12 Conference team twice.

The Oakland Athletics drafted Muncy in the fifth round of 2012 Major League draft. Muncy broke into the Major Leagues as a member of the A’s in 2015. After two seasons and 215 at-bats, the A’s released Muncy before the end of Spring Training in 2017.

The Dodgers scooped up Muncy and assigned him to their Triple-A team in Oklahoma City. Muncy had a very good 2017 minor league season batting .309 with 12 HR and 44 RBI. In 2018 after playing in nine games at Triple-A Muncy was called up to the Dodgers where he has been one of their best players.

Welcome to Hollywood

In two seasons with the Dodgers Muncy has batted .256 with 70 HR and 177 RBI. Muncy has also scored 176 runs and has an OBP of .381. Muncy also set a franchise record hitting his 20th HR in just his 183rd at-bat. He also has six postseason HR with 13 RBI in just 69 at-bats.

Muncy narrowly missed the All-Star game in 2018 and was named as an injury replacement in 2019. His versatility has been his biggest contribution. The Dodgers have a star-studded lineup and Muncy has the ability to play first base, second base, and third base.

Dodgers Outlook

The Dodgers might have the best collection of players of any organization in all of baseball. Their major league roster is second to none and the depth of their farm system is filled with promising stars.

The Dodgers have won seven straight American League Western Division titles and are set up to continue this trend. But the Dodgers are still searching for that World Series ring.
