The Free Agency of Kevin Pillar<\/h1>\n

After being non-tendered by the San Francisco Giants<\/a>, Kevin Pillar<\/a><\/strong> is now a free agent. After the best season in his major league career, Pillar is still a free agent with Spring Training just around the corner.<\/p>\n

Heading into his 31-year-old-season<\/a>, Pillar has finally developed as an everyday starter. In 156 games with the Giants, Pillar hit .264\/.293\/.442<\/a> with a career-high in HR with 21 and RBIs with 87. This while playing at the toughest hitter’s ballpark<\/a> in the majors for half the season. Also worth noting that he led the Giants<\/a> in hits, HR, and RBIs. For prospective teams, Pillar can also provide speed, as he stole 14<\/a> bases last season.<\/p>\n

In 2019 Pillar earned $5.8 million<\/a> dollars. The San Francisco Giants may have felt that a similar price in 2020 is too high. As the Giants continue to get younger, they have decided it would be better to non-tender Kevin Pillar.<\/p>\n

Kevin Pillar is one of the most underrated free agents in @MLB<\/a>, coming off a season of 161 games (career high), .719 OPS (career high) and 21 HR (tied for career high).
