He can reportedly earn another $6 million in incentives to bring the contract to a max value of $10 million. In his Braves tenure, Wood recorded a 21-20 record, 3.10 ERA, 3.17 FIP, and struck out 8.2 batters per nine innings. He was then traded to the Dodgers\u00a0in July of 2015 as part of a three-team trade.<\/p>\n<p>Wood went on to pitch his best baseball of his career while in Los Angeles, including an All-Star campaign in 2017. In that 2017 season, he compiled a 16-3 record, 2.72 ERA, 3.32 FIP, and 151 strikeouts in 152.1 innings. As a result, he finished ninth in the NL <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/y\/youngcy01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cy Young<\/a><\/strong> voting. He backed that season up with another strong output in 2018. He finished the year with a 9-7 record, 3.68 ERA, 3.53 FIP, and 135 strikeouts in 151.2 innings. Over the 2017 and 2018 seasons, his .714 winning percentage (25-10) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/player\/alex-wood-622072\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ranked<\/a> sixth (4th in NL) among the 72 Major League pitchers with at least 50 starts. Unfortunately for Wood, things got off to bad start in March when he was placed on the 60-day injured list with a back injury.
