Pitching Coach Larry Rothschild<\/a> Fired from New York Yankees<\/h2>\n

Larry Rothschild<\/strong><\/a> has been relieved of his duties as New York Yankees<\/a> pitching coach. Rothschild, 65, had spent the past nine seasons with the Yankees. He still had one more year left on his three-year contract. Joel Sherman was the first to report the news via Twitter.<\/p>\n

Rothschild pitched in the Major Leagues for two seasons with the Detroit Tigers<\/a>. He also managed the then Tampa Bay Devil Rays<\/a> for four seasons. Rothschild also served as the pitching coach with four other teams: Cincinnati Reds<\/a>, Atlanta Braves<\/a>, the then Florida Marlins<\/a> and the Chicago Cubs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The #Yankees<\/a> did not \u201cpart ways\u201d with Rothschild. Let\u2019s not use their softened language. He had a year left on his contract. They fired him.<\/p>\n
