Martinez<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/s\/stantmi03.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giancarlo Stanton<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/h\/harpebr03.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bryce Harper<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/j\/judgeaa01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aaron Judge<\/a> are often come up first. All of those names however, pale in comparison to one hitter who resides in Oakland. While he doesn\u2019t get the fanfare of others, the Oakland A&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/d\/daviskh01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Khris Davis<\/a> is the biggest slugger in baseball. With massive power, Davis is the one of the most underrated bats in the game today. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>Khris Davis Early Success<\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coming up through the Milwaukee Brewers organization, Davis always showcased power. \u00a0While playing in difficult minor league settings, he homered 22 times in the Midwest League for the Timberrattlers in 2010 and his power and prospect status continued to grow every year.\u00a0 This earned him a promotion to the Brewers in 2013. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He continued to showcase power in Milwaukee, reaching double digit home run totals in each of his first three seasons.\u00a0 Though power showed, the biggest knock on Davis was his defense.\u00a0 Often he was able to get to balls well in left field, but his throwing arm was a cause for frustration in Milwaukee, especially among fans. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the Brewers entered a full-on rebuild in 2015, Davis was shipped to Oakland in the offseason for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/n\/nottija01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacob Nottingham<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=derby-000bow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bubba Derby<\/a>. \u00a0Coming off of a career high 27 homers in Milwaukee in 2015, there were questions as to whether Davis\u2019 power numbers would see decline.\u00a0 This was a big concern considering that he was leaving hitter friendly Miller Park the pitcher friendly Oakland Coliseum. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Oakland Power Surge<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead of declining, Davis has shown that he can slug it with the best hitters in the game.\u00a0 With a powerful swing that keeps the barrel in the zone for a long time, Davis taken his home run production to a new level.\u00a0 Using the whole field, Davis showed that he can put the ball in the seats no matter where he plays.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In each year in Oakland he has hit more than forty homers to lead the A\u2019s offense. \u00a0Last season, while the team made their run to earn the second-wild card spot, Davis put the team on his back hitting 48 home runs to lead the league while putting up a .874 OPS. \u00a0While these numbers were dominant, they were good enough to earn him an eighth place finish in the American League Most Valuable Player voting.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Consistent Power<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since 2016, Davis\u2019 133 home runs is more than anyone in baseball according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/story\/_\/id\/24851968\/oakland-athletics-khris-davis-wins-hr-title-bats-247-4th-year-row\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ESPN.com<\/a>.\u00a0 The next closest is Stanton at 124, but for some reason the attention is never on Davis. \u00a0Over the past four seasons, Davis has been Mr. Consistent.
