Eovaldi started off very well in Boston, and although his record was only 3-3, he pitched much better than his record. He proved his worth, though, especially in the postseason.

The righty featured in six of the 14 games the Red Sox played during the run to the title. He recorded a 2-0 record over the ALDS and ALCS. He was a force from the starting pitching role and from the bullpen. His 1.61 ERA during the playoffs gave the Red Sox another vital pitcher. Along with the likes of Chris Sale, David Price, and Rick Porcello, he rounded out a major rotation. This staff was able to get the job done.

The 2018 World Champion will continue to grow in this league for years to come. Eovaldi now looks to be an established pitcher and should be a great addition to Boston’s deep rotation. As long as he continues to perform as he did in 2018, he will be a dominant force in the starting rotation. Due to his ability to be flexible, Eovaldi will prove vital for the Red Sox in their bid to repeat. Whether used out of the bullpen or in the rotation, he is a strong pitcher on the mound.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Report: Nathan Eovaldi signs with the Boston Red Sox for the upcoming 2019 season.
