The Philadelphia Phillies rumors are not stopping anytime soon, at least not until the trade deadline. The Phillies are already linked to several candidates<\/a>. At the same time, some players, such as Tarik Skubal<\/a>, might seem unrealistic. Yet there’s no denying that Dave Dombrowski will consider every available option.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia Phillies Rumors Take a Drastic Turn with This All-Star Pitcher<\/h2>\n

Philadelphia has a number of top prospects on the team that they might consider trading<\/a>. At present, their goal is to go beyond the playoffs and win the World Series. A disastrous start to the season proved that they are not a threat anymore in the NL East.<\/p>\n

The Atlanta Braves are a tough opponent, and the Phillies are still 1.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs for the top Wild Card spot. Interim manager Don Mattingly will push his team to the playoffs for sure. However, it’s the missing pieces that they must address before October.<\/p>\n

Pitching has been an issue for the Phillies this season. Aaron Nola<\/a> is not the same guy he once was, with a poor 5.75 ERA and 3-6 record. Cristopher Sanchez<\/a> has excelled throughout this season, posting a stellar 2.62 ERA. Zack Wheeler<\/a> continues to dominate with his veteran presence, while Jesus Luzardo<\/a> has shown consistency. Nola is the struggling one, and there’s still room for another arm to bolster their rotation in October.<\/p>\n

Phillies Rumors Turn Toward Michael Wacha<\/h3>\n

Having just four pitchers on the team’s depth chart is certainly not enough. Mattingly is aware of this, and so is Dombrowski. The club is expected to be buyers before the trade deadline. That said, the latest Phillies rumors are turning towards Michael Wacha<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Trading for Wacha would be a benefit. The Kansas City Royals star tossed a scoreless inning in the 2026 All-Star Game that cannot go unnoticed. Wacha has a 5-7 record with a 3.77 ERA. While he might not be the ideal candidate, if paired with the right pitchers, Wacha might be the perfect fit in Philly.<\/p>\n
