And that\u2019s what the Futures Game is about on All Star Weekend. Looking at the top prospects that a team had in the system. And the Red Sox have two (hopefully) bright stars coming up soon in <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=arias-008fra\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Franklin Arias<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=eyanso000ant\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anthony Eyanson<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"max-width: 1280px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"cd0dd1b91a4067356bae3f8562645fa8\" image-id=\"elcBKkOjYsem\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 3599px; aspect-ratio: 3599\/5399;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p>\n<h2>Red Sox at the Futures Game<\/h2>\n<h3><b>Franklin Arias\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arias got signed as an international free agent in 2023 at the age of 17, so there was no college play to go off of. But the young infielder has flourished throughout his time in the system, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2026\/04\/24\/red-sox-prospect-fire-call-up\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">especially this season<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. He\u2019s batting .333 in Portland, with almost as many doubles (15) as home runs (17). The number one prospect in the system (and seven in all of baseball) should be moving up to Triple-A Worcester any day now, and could easily slide into a September call-up role for Boston if he succeeds at that level as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Franklin Arias can&#8217;t be stopped!<\/p>\n<p>The <a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RedSox?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@RedSox<\/a>&#8216;s top prospect (MLB No. 7) belts his 17th homer of the season and second in as many games for the <a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PortlandSeaDogs?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@PortlandSeaDogs<\/a> \ud83e\udd2f<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year-old shortstop now has a 1.021 OPS this season. <a  href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ULhe5d8nXp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/ULhe5d8nXp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 MLB Pipeline (@MLBPipeline) <a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MLBPipeline\/status\/2072374408803487860?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">July 1, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As mentioned, his bat\u2019s been tremendous this season, but so has his eye. He\u2019s got 33 walks compared to 36 strikeouts, making his full OBP at .421. The main question is his glove and his position. As far as his glove, his glove was what originally brought him into the spotlight. But it might be due to his position on why the 20 year old\u2019s glove isn\u2019t super well in the minors. His fielding percentage at second base (.981) is better than his fielding percentage at shortstop (.969).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0With <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/s\/storytr01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trevor Story<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s future <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2026\/04\/30\/the-trevor-story-saga-is-his-time-up-in-boston\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">up in the air<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/mayerma01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marcelo Mayer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> having his natural position as shortstop, it might be a good thing for the top prospect to slide over to second base, for the future. Especially if former second baseman <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/c\/campbkr01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kristian Campbell<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is being rebranded as an outfielder this season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Anthony Eyanson\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eyanson is a right handed pitcher currently in Portland. The Sox drafted him in the third round of the 2025 draft out of LSU, where he went 12-2 with 152 strikeouts in 108 innings. So far he\u2019s had <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2026\/05\/22\/red-sox-prospect-anthony-eyanson\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">somewhat of a quick rise for a player in his first year<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In Greenville, he struck out 34 compared to three walks and had an ERA of 0.44. The number 55 prospect in all of baseball\u00a0 rose to Portland after only five starts in High-A. Overall this season, he\u2019s 2-0 with a 1.48 ERA and 63\/19 K\/BB across two levels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Anthony Eyanson made his 7th start with Portland last night.<\/p>\n<p>5.2 IP &#8211; 3 Hits &#8211; 1 ER\/R &#8211; 2 K &#8211; 3 BB &#8211; 66 Pitches\/39 Strikes.<\/p>\n<p>Not much in terms of swing-and-miss, but it was his deepest outing of the year. 1.48 ERA so far in Double-A. 94th percentile wOBA. <a  href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QW3B62Bysc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/QW3B62Bysc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tyler Milliken (@tylermilliken_) <a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/tylermilliken_\/status\/2071255738035429500?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">June 28, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the Red Sox perspective, Eyanson probably would not be up until 2027. However, with a lefty dominant rotation, a young righty is a breath of fresh air for them, something they haven\u2019t really had since<\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/buchhcl01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Clay Buchholz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. But if he continues on this trajectory, and continues to improve <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/milb\/prospects\/top100\/anthony-eyanson-809254\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">his other pitches<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (fastball hits 100 but his best is his mid 80\u2019s slider), he could be a real threat in the rotation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Red Sox History In The Futures Game\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Red Sox have had a lot of success with players at the Futures Game since its inauguration in 1999. This includes stars such as <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/beninan01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Andrew Benintendi<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bettsmo01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mookie Betts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/y\/youklke01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kevin Youkillis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Can Eyanson strike out <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=made--000jes\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jesus Made<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">? And could Arias hit a bomb off <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=mayfie000kas\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kash Mayfield<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">? It will be something to see.
