This built off of his June stretch, where Swanon’s insane hot streak had him playing like one of the best players in the league. When talking about this month, nobody showed a better performance than Crow-Armstrong. His month was red hot, and he played at a level that was pretty unheard of. The star centerfielder hit 11 home runs and had a remarkable .381 batting average. Since he has been moved to the leadoff spot, it has felt like he has finally sparked the offense as many had hoped for.

Pete Crow-Armstrong of the @Cubs is one of three players in MLB history to have a month with:

.375+ batting average
.775+ slugging pct
80+ total bases
15+ walks
10+ home runs
5+ stolen bases

The others are Babe Ruth (June 1920, July 1920, May 1930) and Lou Gehrig (June 1930). pic.twitter.com/ud5bAyf4wq

— OptaSTATS (@OptaSTATS) July 1, 2026

Other than Crow-Armstrong, it was a pretty good month for most of the Cubs’ hitters. As previously mentioned, Swanson has been unreal. His start to the season was slow, but his power went off the charts as he hit six home runs and had 22 RBI. These two have, without a doubt, been the best hitters over the past month, and are the biggest reasons for the Cubs sucess.

Moving past those two, Suzuki had a strong month. He hit five home runs, had 20 RBI, and a .315 batting average. Busch struggled with his batting average, as it was .211. However, he proved why he is one of the Cubs’ top players as he hit four home runs and had 11 RBI. Besides Crow-Armstrong, Swanson, and Suzuki, it was a lot of fairly similar performances. Busch and the rest of the bats led an even attack to boost the Cubs’ hitting, which made the Cubs one of the best teams in the league in June with a record of 16-10

Last Word on the Cubs Hitting

Without a doubt, the Cubs’ hitting is the biggest factor in the team’s rebound. The pitching has not been awful, but the injuries have clearly taken a toll on the team. Chicago has all the talent in the world, and everyone knows that it would be hard to keep their stars quiet for an entire season. They have finally been able to break free of the slump and are showing why they have one of the top rosters in the league. While it will be difficult to see the top players keep up this pace for the rest of the year, the team should still be able to use this as a stepping stone to maintain a strong offense.

Finding a way to maintain the Cubs’ hitting is sure to be one of the goals of the team going forward. The National League is highly competitive, and it is always hard to win due to the talent of teams like the Dodgers. Even just looking at the division, the Brewers are a dangerous team and never easy to beat. Right now, the Cubs’ hitting is the key to keeping them in the race until some of the key starters can return. If Chicago can keep this offensive production going and combine it with healthy pitching, then it may be built for a deep playoff run.

Main Photo: Matt Marton- Imagn Images

The Chicago Cubs’ hitting has had a scorching hot streak recently.
