Byron Buxton<\/a> is not actively being shopped, and the franchise centerpiece also controls his future with a full no-trade clause.<\/p>\n

That should end the conversation.<\/p>\n

But every July, baseball reminds us that circumstances can change quickly.<\/p>\n

If the Twins fall further out of contention or receive an offer too good to refuse, teams around the league will undoubtedly inquire about one of baseball’s most dynamic players.<\/p>\n

When healthy, Buxton remains a game-changer<\/a>. He combines Gold Glove-caliber defense in center field with elite speed, tremendous power, and the ability to take over games on both sides of the ball.<\/p>\n

His injury history creates risk, but his upside is exactly why contenders would be willing to gamble.<\/p>\n

If the impossible becomes possible, here are the three destinations that make the most sense.<\/p>\n

The Phillies<\/a> have been chasing another World Series since reaching the Fall Classic in 2022, and adding a true everyday center fielder could push an already dangerous roster even closer to a championship.<\/a><\/p>\n

Buxton would immediately become the club’s best defensive outfielder while adding another legitimate power threat to a lineup featuring Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, and Alec Bohm.<\/p>\n

His athleticism would also allow the Phillies to improve their overall outfield alignment while strengthening one of the few areas that has remained inconsistent.<\/p>\n
