The New York Yankees and outfielder Jasson Dominguez<\/a> have reunited at the Major League level. This rekindling of the two is crucial for both parties, as the stakes are higher than you\u2019d think.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday, Yankees<\/a> outfielder Trent Grisham<\/a> suffered a right hamstring strain against the Toronto Blue Jays. This occurred right after Yankees slugger Aaron Judge<\/a> suffered injury and was placed on the 10-day injured list.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The club is lacking key bats in the lineup, as well as options in the outfield, and leadership within the overall lineup. Both injuries are unfortunate; however, the timing couldn\u2019t have mapped out better, benefitting both sides.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Yankees outfield prospect needs this opportunity to work out for him. The situation couldn\u2019t have been better for Dominguez, as he regained a chance to further prove himself and be a staple on the roster.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Injury created a choppy playing situation for Dominguez. From oblique issues to Tommy John, and a shoulder injury, the outfielder was sidelined multiple times. Now that he\u2019s back at full health and on the production train, his projection is a lot different.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dominguez is going through pre-arbitration, and the next two seasons he will test arbitration. His current playing status will give him a chance to prove himself and increase his value when it\u2019s time to become a free agent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stock price for Dominguez is very important, as there\u2019s a chance that he does not remain a Yankee. With good production and overall performance, the Yankees outfielder\u2019s representative will have a case to present at the general manager’s table.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His next contract, whether New York or not, the prospect will now have a strong case to pursue a high monetary value. If the plan is to remain a Yankee, both parties will need to come to an agreement, whether it\u2019s a long-term contract or mid-range.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This will happen only if the Yankees find a match long-term with Dominguez.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Yankees prospect outfielder spent 29 games in the minor leagues<\/a>. He worked in triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre Railriders, recording 125 plate appearances and 110 at-bats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The one known as the \u201cMartian\u201d recorded 35 hits, five home runs, 18 RBIs, 17 runs, and he slashed a .318\/.400\/.500. Dominguez\u2019s tools on the base pads showed out, as he snagged 10 bases.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the Major League side, the outfielder played 11 games with 41 plate appearances, and 38 at-bats. He has five RBIs, eight hits, three doubles, and two home runs. Dominguez has a lot of time to tact on his numbers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Dominguez might be marked as a potential trade piece. Judge and Grisham will be back in a bit, and the club has a healthy Cody Bellinger. It is obvious that the club will not deal prospect Spencer Jones<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With Dominguez included, that would be five outfielders that the Yankees would employ. The team could not justify having this many outfielders, while other areas may need improvement. The outfielder is very valuable in the market, and the club could get a good return.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With Dominguez being up in the MLB, his stock will rise as long as his statistics and output stay consistent. This is good for the club, as they may seek a valuable return.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dominguez\u2019s return to the big leagues has defined stakes on both ends of the table. His presence and performance can he a huge deal for the Yankees lineup; having him on base is a big win. Further to retention and success, his stock could be huge for the club to utilize at the trade deadline.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The outfielder has the opportunity to make his bed and sleep it in for a while if all goes well.<\/p>\n
