Here’s a start. Right-handed high-leverage reliever Brock Stewart is set to begin a rehab assignment tonight at Single-A Ontario, according to Fabian Ardaya of the Athletic. If all goes well, Stewart could rejoin the Dodgers before the end of the month.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have assigned RHP Brock Stewart to the Ontario Tower Buzzers for rehab assignment for Friday’s matchup.

— Ontario Tower Buzzers (@towerbuzzers) June 12, 2026

A Bumpy Tenure

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBEOfyn3fW" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 3000px; aspect-ratio: 3000/2100;" ></smartframe-embed>

Stewart came to the Dodgers from the Minnesota Twins at the Trade Deadline last year. In exchange, Los Angeles sent James Outman to the Twin Cities. The Dodgers were in desperate need of a high-leverage right-handed reliever. Apart from an initial scoreless appearance, the former Dodger wasn’t it. Stewart’s lack of effectiveness was due to an ailing shoulder. His season ended early as he underwent surgery to repair it. He opened 2025 on the injured list until his rehab was complete.

Trouble Staying Healthy

Stewart returned at the beginning of May. He lasted two appearances. In those outings. He struck out three and didn’t allow a run. However, he has been sidelined since with a bone spur in his heel. The right-hander began his career as a starter for the Dodgers. His mixed results eventually led him to become a reliever. Stewart found his stride.

Limiting the length of his outings added miles per hour to his fastball. Add a devastating sweeper, and a reliever was born. The transition has resulted in an ERA below three and a prominent role in the later innings. Effectiveness doesn’t seem as big of a problem for Stewart these days. The question has always been, can he stay healthy?

Stewart’s return can’t come soon enough, as the Dodgers’ bullpen has not been as reliable in June as they have been in April and May. In the most recent series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, they have blown a couple of late-inning leads.

In Other News…

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBlDxwgtUh" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 3120px; aspect-ratio: 3120/2080;" ></smartframe-embed>

Shohei Ohtani is not in the lineup tonight against the Chicago White Sox.
