Since his 2024 All-Star nod, he&#8217;s dealt with injuries and some declining play, resulting in an ugly 2025 season hitting under .700 OPS. He has rebounded and is putting up good numbers, but he seems to really struggle hitting the first-overall pick ceiling he was projected at.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Adley Rutschman has 31 RBIs in 45 games this season. It might not be a bad idea for the team to consider moving Rutschman to save money in the future and get some pitchers in return.<\/p>\n<h3>Who Would Bite For An Adley Rutschman Trade?<\/h3>\n<p>Several teams need catching help, ranging from those dealing with injuries to those with poor play behind the plate.<\/p>\n<p>One team that&#8217;s popped up in trade conversations is the in-division rival New York Yankees, who are on the verge of giving up on <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/w\/wellsau01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-06-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Austin Wells<\/a>. Through 2026, he&#8217;s been batting a paltry .166\/.278\/.533 with only four home runs, a steep decline from his 2025 numbers. While the Orioles won&#8217;t get both, they could still pick up <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=hess--000ben&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-06-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ben Hess<\/a> or <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=cunnin001bry&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-06-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bryce Cunningham<\/a>, two respectable pitching prospects.<\/p>\n<p>Another organization that could benefit from Rutschman&#8217;s services is the Pittsburgh Pirates. <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/d\/davishe01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-06-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Henry Davis<\/a> is at the end of his rope, with multiple lackluster seasons and not living up to his hype, and <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bartjo01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-06-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joey Bart<\/a> is also struggling to make inroads.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a likelier destination given he would end up in the National League East, plus Pittsburgh has <a  href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/articles\/pirates-staff-elite-developing-starting-094110770.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">developed<\/a> solid pitching over the last few years, including <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/s\/skenepa01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-06-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paul Skenes<\/a>. While their farm system isn&#8217;t as good as it was, they still offer some pitching options, including <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=kelly-001ant&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-06-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Antwone Kelly<\/a> and <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=sterli000lev&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-06-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Levi Sterling<\/a>.
