Those areas have improved after a series of roster moves earlier this month. The Astros just went through a grueling 10-game road trip and came out of it with seven wins. They were just 2 1/2 games behind in the American League West and had a 10-5 record going back to May 13 after the series at the Texas Rangers. Their overall record was 26-32 after the road trip, just six games under .500 for the first time in almost two months.

They are 14-13 overall in the month of May. While that included an impressive sweep of the Chicago Cubs, the two series against the Rangers have given the Astros that winning momentum. Houston just came off a four-game series in Arlington and won three of them.
