On Monday afternoon, the Toronto Blue Jays announced that they acquired<\/a> infielder Lenyn Sosa<\/a> from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for minor league outfielder Jordan Rich and a player to be named later or cash considerations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sosa is in his fifth season at the big-league level, with all of those years spent in the White Sox organization. Through 12 games this season, Sosa has hit .212 with a .212 OBP and three RBI. The 26-year-old has hit three doubles and struck out seven times across his 33 at-bats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over parts of five seasons, Sosa is a career .245 hitter with 37 home runs and 128 RBI. The infielder sports a career .272 OBP with a slugging percentage of .387. Sosa\u2019s best season came last year, when he posted career highs in almost every statistical category, including 140 games played.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over those 140 games, Sosa batted .264 with 22 home runs and 75 RBI, leading the White Sox in home runs, RBI, average, slugging, and OPS. During his time with the White Sox, Sosa has appeared in games at first base, second base, shortstop, and third base<\/a>, bringing positional versatility to the Blue Jays\u2019 roster.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
