The group was joined by Scott Posednik, who read the announcement. Posednik played under Guillen in Chicago. Additionally, he hit a walk-off home run in Game 2 of the 2005 World Series.<\/p>\n<h3>Guillen&#8217;s White Sox Career<\/h3>\n<p>Guillen played for the White Sox from 1985-1997. In 2004, he took over the managerial job, a position he held until 2011. As the White Sox manager, Guillen went 678-617.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"max-width: 610px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOB12FExD2c\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4896px; aspect-ratio: 4896\/3264;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p>\n<h3>2005 World Series Championship<\/h3>\n<p>Guillen&#8217;s second season as Sox manager saw him lead the team to the a World Series championship. Furthermore, it was the organization&#8217;s first since 1917.<\/p>\n<p>The White Sox <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/10\/29\/world-series-sweeps-mlb\/\" target=\"_self\">dominated the postseason<\/a> in 2005. Their championship run started by sweeping the defending-champion Boston Red Sox in the Division Series before beating the Los Angeles Angels in five games in the Championship Series. The loss to the Angels in the series was their only one of the postseason.<\/p>\n<p>In the World Series, the White Sox played the Houston Astros, a team appearing in their first World Series. In addition, he will join Konerko and Bueherle as key members of the 2005-wining team.<\/p>\n<h3>Sox Fans to Celebrate Better Times<\/h3>\n<p>The White Sox are in the middle of a rebuild, so things are not always enjoyable for fans of the team. In spite of that, fans of the team will enjoy getting to celebrate a great run in franchise history.
