The Los Angeles Dodgers have been busy on the final day of the first homestand. They have claimed right-handed pitcher Grant Holman<\/a> off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. In order to make room for him on the 40-man roster, Los Angeles is transferring starting pitcher Gavin Stone<\/a> to the 60-day injured list<\/a>. Holman was designated for assignment on Opening Day.<\/p>\n

Holman is a product of the Athletics organization, taken in the sixth round of the 2021 MLB Draft. He debuted with Oakland in 2024 and spent two seasons with the team before Arizona claimed him in February. Most of his appearances have been as a reliever with several starts thrown in occasionally. The right-hander had a 5.09 <\/i>ERA in 22 total appearances last year. Barring an unknown injury, Holmes will start his tenure in Oklahoma City and work to improve his control. Of his three-pitch repertoire, his slider is his best pitch as it garners the most swing and miss.<\/p>\n
