This can set or demolish the tone.

Yankees Performances this Spring Will Cause Much Needed Hype

The Yankees have a vibrant social media presence right now. The reasons are not because of the anticipated team on the field, but more so for awareness and outreach. Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone need to create a hype to engage Yankees nation.

The club made minimal moves this offseason, some which were questionable. Boone seems to be optimistic about his healthy Yankees roster being an American League East competitor. With health on their side, there is no doubt about that.

Despite these beliefs and optimism, the club needs some excitement to create a stronger aura. The hype will ultimately come from some key performances from various players.

Key Performances: Right-Handed Pitch Carlos Lagrange

The double-A Dominican Republic prospect, Carlos Lagrange, is on the ladder towards the Major Leagues. He’s the club’s second ranked prospect on the top 30 prospects list, and highest ranking pitcher.

With fastball command improvement, Lagrange will now focus on his violence on the mound. His power and electricity in his pitches combined with statistics will drive up the attention level on him.

Lagrange’s outing against the Minnesota Twins this spring showed exciting things. He worked up to 102.1 mph, averaging 100 mph and striking out batters above that twice.

The right-hander is expected to reach the big leagues this year. His key performances will be the focal point towards that promotion. His advancement will be valuable to the team.

Spencer Jones Is Fighting

Yankees sixth ranked prospect is also another breath of fresh air, especially at this moment. The grassroot prospect is expected to start the season in the minor leagues, however, he’s making a strong case.

It’s almost common knowledge that Jasson Domingues may be in the driver seat to occupy the last opening day roster spot. That being said, nothing is set in stone except for the starting outfield.

Jones has been dishing out some key performances, based on his recent offensive explosion. The prospect has hit three home runs in five games, with six RBIs, and a .300 batting average.

The New Starting Pitcher Ryan Weathers Is Creating Curiosity

Ryan Weathers is the newest rotational addition to the Yankees pitching staff. The left-hander is well spoken for and brings a good pitching profile to the Bronx. Having another southpaw in the mix is a huge deal for the club.

Weathers is expected to be in the starting five, however, his showing in the spring will determine that. So far, physically, Weathers is displaying well, as he looks filled out, and stronger. This physicality is translating to key performances, starting with a velocity of 98.5 mph.

This is quite impressive, as his max fastball in 2025 was 96.9 mph. He’s lighting up the gun and its only March.
