The club made few offensive changes in the offseason. Instead, they will rely on three offensive x-factors this season to <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2026\/02\/11\/this-spring-training-will-tell-a-lot-about-2026-yankees\/\" target=\"_self\">push success<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The overall memory of the 2025 Yankees was the postseason, and not in a great light. The Bronx Bombers had an early send-off at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toronto\u2019s offense was spoken for, despite the Yankees&#8217; pitching being above satisfactory. The downfall lay in the Yankees&#8217; offense. Their x-factors were not all present, and they could not figure out the Blue Jays pitching.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This thought still lingers in the back of the minds of Yankees supporters. How do we move past this? The understanding of who the offensive x-factors are, what their capabilities are, and what they need to do to keep the club afloat in the American League East.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>2026 Yankees Offensive X-factors: Cody Bellinger<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the best moves the Yankees made in the offseason was retain outfielder<a  href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/yankees\/news\/cody-bellinger-returns-to-yankees-with-world-series-goals\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Cody Bellinger<\/a>. The market was not hot for the Bronx Bombers; their pursuits were unsuccessful. Bellinger was the better fit, having played in New York.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bellinger will be a clear x-factor this year for the Yankees. He\u2019ll be one of the most depended on players, a middle-of-the-order bat. He\u2019s from the left side and poses as a danger with runners on. Bellinger also possesses a powerful swing with gap-to-gap ability.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Situational hitting will be a key for the left-hander. His power will need to be consistent, looking upwards of 25 to 30 home runs. Additionally, he will need to strikeout less and offer more extra-base hits. His key is consistency over high impact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"aligncenter\"><p class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 610px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOBS22nZHUs\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 3073px; aspect-ratio: 3073\/1897;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Jazz Chisholm Jr.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/c\/chishja01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jazz Chisholm Jr.<\/a> was a huge part of the Yankees&#8217; 2025 season, posting one of his best offensive seasons. The infielder hit 31 home runs last season, slashing .242\/.331\/.481.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chisholm hits from the left side, showing good power and pitch recognition. He\u2019s an x-factor in a lot of his game. The left-handed hitter can hit home runs and work gap-to-gap.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chisholm Jr can succeed with extra-base hits. He needs to get on base, where his speed becomes an important factor. The infielder stole 31 bases last year, consistently putting himself into scoring position.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Yankees need him to be within the 30 home run range, matching or exceeding his slashes from 2025, as well as his stolen bases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"aligncenter\"><p class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 610px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOBqO5cPtk5\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4419px; aspect-ratio: 4419\/2946;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Aaron Judge\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The captain, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2026\/02\/06\/16-yankees-are-represented-in-the-2026-world-baseball-classic\/\" target=\"_self\">Aaron Judge<\/a>, is the key to the Yankees&#8217; offensive engine. His hitting is contagious and sets the tone for the rest of the offense. Judge took charge of his offensive capabilities in 2025, putting up very good numbers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He slashed .331\/.457\/.688 in 2025 with a 1.145 OPS. Judge also won the AL MVP for his overall performance. Leading the league in walks, runs, OPS+, and WAR.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Judge needs to be a home run leader with high RBI expectations. He\u2019s projected to have between 40 and 45 home runs. Last season, he hit 53 home runs.
