He’s bound to see some playing time if he has a decent spring.

The 2023 first-rounder’s numbers did slump in 2025, registering his lowest batting and on-base percentages, along with an OPS under .700. It could be due to injury, as he played in 32 fewer games than in 2024. Still, he maintains good gap power and on-base ratings. The one golden trait he has that’s still there is his speed.

Bradfield grades out at an 80 on his scouting report for running, the highest mark anyone can get. In the last 184 games, he’s stolen 110 bases in 127 attempts, which is a very high success rate. The 24-year-old is also rated 70 in his fielding, backed by his .991 fielding efficiency and only one error in 114 chances.

Enrique Bradfield Jr showing off one of his two 80-grade tools.

pic.twitter.com/80Jajdrmkb

— The Verge- An Orioles MiLB Podcast (@TheVergePod) August 20, 2023

“Now he is one of the Minor League’s fastest players, and premier base stealing threats, and his ability to cause havoc on the basepaths draws him comparisons to former Gold Glove and stolen base champion Kenny Lofton,” Baseball Savant’s scouting report says.

One of the things the Orioles are watching for in spring training is who can become their leadoff guy and base stealer. Gunnar Henderson stole 30 bases on 35 attempts last year, but they need a real leadoff hitter. Bradfield Jr. could be a selection out of camp or called up early if he improves his contact numbers.

A Lofton comparison might be a little too much, but he could definitely be a Chandler Simpson-type.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBAUY0cmsX" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4186px; aspect-ratio: 4186/2354;" ></smartframe-embed>

Left-Handed Pitcher Luis De León (18th Overall Orioles Prospect)

2025 Stats (Low-A to Double-A): 20 games (18 starts); 5-3; 87.1 innings; 3.30 ERA; 65 hits and 41 walks (1.21 WHIP); 0 HRs; 107 K; .203 OBA

Baltimore signed Luis De León in the 2021 international signing period for a measly $30,000. He’s now a serious contender in spring training to be a bullpen asset in two years or a backend starter. This might be one of the better steals the Orioles have gotten in recent memory.

2025 acted as a bounce-back year for the 22-year-old, seeing all of his stats come down. It wasn’t as pretty as his 2023 campaign, but it’s encouraging to see him adapt to higher levels of professional baseball.

De León saw his walk rate drop from five per nine innings in 2024 to 4.2 in 2025, with his strikeout rate remaining at 11 per nine. He also marked the third year of his career, finishing without giving up a single home run. Having one season as a starter doing that is hard, but three times is impressive.

Better get familiar with Luis De Leon, he is a star in the making

The Orioles’ No. 21 prospect struck out two in the first inning of the AFL Fall Stars Game last night pic.twitter.com/8B8QjMXuah

— 𝙆am Brice (@kambrice1tv) November 10, 2025

Scouts note his fastball, which grades out as a plus-pitch, alongside an average slider/changeup combination. The only real concern is his control and command, which reappeared during his outing in the Arizona Fall League.

“The walk issues stem from De León’s need to find a consistent release point and better repeat his delivery, which should help him stay ahead of hitters, pitch in fewer defensive counts and limit damage,” the scouting report on MLB Pipeline explains.

Baltimore needs power pitchers both in their rotation and bullpen out of spring training. De León offers that even though he’s years away from the majors, he could serve as a companion piece to Bradish and Baz in the future. If he develops a fourth pitch, he’s a frontline starter.

First Baseman/Catcher Creed Willems (30th Overall Orioles Prospect)

2025 Stats (Double-A): 379 At-Bats; .253/.338/.441; 21 doubles; 1 triple; 16 HRs; 59 RBIs; 38 walks and 83 K; 1 SB

Creed Willems offers legitimate upside despite ranking at the very bottom of the Orioles’ prospect list. The 2021 eighth-rounder’s progression into an above-replacement hitter is a true underdog story. It’s still an uphill battle for him to get playing time, but he could be part of a trade package this year.

The 22-year-old posted some of the best metrics in his career in 2025. Willems notched career highs in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, and his lowest strikeout rate. He’s also continued to show a healthy split in his gap and raw power, with 38 extra-base hits.

For Creed Willems, baseball represents only part of his development. pic.twitter.com/qZLZfAvivy

— Orioles Player Development (@OsPlayerDev) January 11, 2024

The downsides scouts point to are his running abilities, which grade well below average. It’s unlikely he will see action this year, or in an Orioles jersey out of spring training.
