The MLB Winter Meetings are just about underway with all 30 MLB teams arriving, or en route due to weather, and New York <\/span>Yankees GM Brian Cashman did two media availabilities on Sunday night. The first was on MLB Network and the second on Yankees Hot Stove on the YES Network. In his media availability, he provided some interesting insight into the Yankees’ wants\/needs this offseason.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cashman Talks Yankees Roster, Past and Present at Winter Meetings<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The one thing that was consistently mentioned in both sessions is that the team is \u201c too left-handed right now, without a doubt.” With the loss of <\/span>Paul Goldschmidt<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Amed Rosario<\/span><\/a> (who the team has connected with in free agency), and <\/span>Austin Slater<\/span><\/a>, there is a clear need for improvement on that front. Cashman did not rule out a return<\/a> for <\/span>Cody Bellinger<\/span><\/a>, citing that he spoke to Scott Boras Saturday on multiple of his free agents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Cody Bellinger would be a great fit for us,\u201d said Cashman. \u201cI think he’d be a great fit for anybody. I think he’s a very talented player that can play multiple positions at a high level, and hits lefties, hits righties. He’s a contact guy, and I think our environment was a great one for him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
