One of the bright spots for the Houston Astros this season was their defense<\/a>. A few weeks ago, utility man Mauricio Dub\u00f3n<\/a> and right fielder Cam Smith<\/a> earned Gold Glove nominations at their respective positions. \u00a0<\/span>With all of the Astros\u2019<\/a> injuries this season, Dub\u00f3n maximized his potential all over the field and played a huge role for the team defensively.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mauricio Dub\u00f3n Takes Home Second Utility Gold Glove<\/h2>\n

Golden Once Again<\/h3>\n

On Sunday, Dub\u00f3n<\/a> won his second American League utility Gold Glove Award. This recognition has been given out since 2022, and Dub\u00f3n has won it twice in those four seasons. He last received it in 2023 and has been nominated three times in a row. As a result, he is the first player in MLB history to win multiple utility Gold Gloves.<\/p>\n
