Brian Cashman and the New York Yankees will take all the assistance they can get to end their latest slide. The club recently acquired infielder Amed Rosario prior to Thursday\u2019s trade deadline.<\/span><\/p>\n

In that deal, they parted ways with outfielder Browm Martinez<\/a>, who signed a free agent contract with the team in January 2024. Martinez was assigned to the DSL-NYY Bombers. To obtain Rosario<\/a>,\u00a0 they also shipped out a top prospect arm. <\/span>Right-handed pitcher Clayton Beeter<\/a> was also traded to the Nationals alongside Martinez. Beeter was ranked the Yankees’ number 20 prospect in the team\u2019s top 30. Beeter was a key part of the farm system and held optimal trade value.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Yankees now have Ryan McMahon<\/a> playing third base, which is why he was brought to the Bronx. Anthony Volpe<\/a> and Jazz Chisholm Jr.<\/a> hold down the middle infield at second base and shortstop. So, what does Rosario<\/a> bring to the table, and where does he fit in?<\/span><\/p>\n

The utility infielder<\/a> Rosario broke into the major leagues in 2017 with the New York Mets. He has nine years of big league experience with several teams, including the Cleveland Guardians, Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays, Cincinnati Reds, and the Nationals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When looking at Rosario\u2019s statistics, he has 46 games played this season, with 148 at-bats, recording 40 hits, five home runs, 18 RBI, scoring 19 times, and slashing .270\/.310\/.426.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
