The Arizona Diamondbacks traded first baseman Josh Naylor<\/a> to the Seattle Mariners on Thursday, as first reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan<\/a>. It is one of the first major deals of the 2025 MLB trade deadline. In exchange, the DBacks will receive left-hander Brandyn Garcia<\/a> and right-hander Ashton Izzi<\/a>. The Mariners later announced the deal on their social media.<\/p>\n

Diamondbacks Trade Josh Naylor to Seattle Mariners<\/h2>\n

Arizona acquired the veteran first baseman<\/a>\u00a0from the Cleveland Guardians this past offseason in exchange for Slade Cecconi<\/a> and a competitive balance draft pick. After starting his career with the San Diego Padres, Naylor spent parts of five seasons in Cleveland. From 2022 onwards, he was teammates with his brother, catcher Bo Naylor<\/a>. In 2024, Josh was an All-Star for the first time.<\/p>\n
