That leaves Randal Grichuk, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Alek Thomas, and Jake McCarthy as names the club may be willing to move. Of those four names, Grichuk may be the most enticing name for other teams, as he is on a one-year, $5 million contract. He is hitting .242 with seven home runs in 2025, and could be a name that contending teams consider as they look to add outfield depth or a potential bench bat.

https://t.co/0OWIBB4Eoe. Still, he is hitting .251 with 12 home runs and 47 RBI, so his bat is still serviceable for a contender looking to make a playoff push. The Diamondbacks owe Gurriel Jr. $14 million this season, and he will almost surely opt into his player option unless he has a lightning-hot second half of the 2025 season.

McCarthy and Thomas are both signed to team-friendly contracts, but they’re struggling this season. McCarthy is currently hitting .144/.228/.244 in 29 games in 2025, but has seen success at the plate earlier in his career. After hitting .285 last season, a team may be willing to buy low on McCarthy in hopes he can turn his season around with a change of scenery. Thomas, who is an excellent defender and base runner, is hitting .245 with five home runs this season, and is under team control through 2028.

Who Might Consider One of Arizona’s Outfielders

So far, rumors suggest the New York Mets, San Diego Padres, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Guardians, and Tampa Bay Rays are looking for outfield help.
