Marte has mentioned that he wanted to be a Diamondback for the rest of his career. The front office shared the same sentiment, and in April, they agreed to a six-year, $116 million contract extension<\/a>. This contract keeps him in Arizona through 2031.<\/p>\n

Offensive Effectiveness<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Marte is a proven hitter with first-rate power and on-base skills. He is known for his offensive ability to hit for average, to find a way to get on base, to drive in runs, and to get that clutch hit<\/a> when needed. He has worked on his hand-eye coordination at the plate and has become a much better situational hitter. The enhanced aptitude he has shown in drawing walks has demonstrated a stable and well-rounded approach to his hitting.
