The duo have impressed Gomez Cora in their cameo appearances in the series and added that they bring an ”added dimension” to their game which would be vital in Rio as all teams are bringing in a full strength squads that will leave spectators and viewers around the globe in awe.

”As a team we are very confident with our possibilities. There is a lot of pride in the squad and the hunger to represent our country” Gaston Revol on worldrugby.org

The Argentinians are in Pool A with Fiji, USA and host Brazil at the Deodoro Stadium  from the 9-11th of August where teams will play two games each day from their accustomed three games in two days in the HSBC World Sevens Series.

The Pumas have gone for speed and their natural strength in the contact area where they will suffocate teams, they are also one of the best tacklers in the world which will really test teams like Fiji who like to offload at every opportunity.

In the team are some of the best in Axel Muller, the unassuming Bautista Ezcurra, super-sub Rodrigo Etchart with quality leaders in Gaston Revol and Santiago Alvarez with the impressive Juan Pablo Estelles and Fernando Luna.

Missing is one of their best Nicolas Bruzonne who has been the backbone of the team for some time and have helped them in the last few years but not enough to make the cut like Pio Tuwai of Fiji.

Argentinian squad:

Santiago Alvarez (vc), Juan Pablo Estelles, Rodrigo Etchart, Axel Muller, Juan Imoff, German Schulz, Franco Sabato, Bautista Ezcurra, Gaston Revol (c), Matias Moroni, Javier Rojas, Fernanado Luna.
