Make or Break Weekend in the Aviva Premiership

The Aviva Premiership make-it-or-break-it weekend is in full swing on Saturday. Fans will see Gloucester against London Irish, which is sure to be an intense game! Both sides have well trained teams that have strengths behind them. Gloucester has some England rugby players such as Billy Twelvetrees and Jonny May. This will give this side a helping hand. Looking at the London Irish squad, suggests to me that this will be a highly powered game and there will be a fight for territory on the field. This will mean that both teams may play their powerful players to help gain as much points as possible. This match will kick off at 15:00 at Kingsholm, the home of Gloucester rugby.

At the same time, there will be a match at Adams Park, where London Wasps and Newcastle Falcons do battle. In their last premiership game, the Falcons played Saracens and were defeated. Hopefully, they have worked on the things like the line-outs to help with the attack on the London Wasps. Wasps are coming off a heartbreaking loss as well, as they lost their last match against Bath in the Amlin Cup. This match was a close call as the game intensified in the second half. The London Wasps have players such as James Haskell and Joe Launchbury who you can expect will help the squad gain points against Newcastle.

Three games at the same time you say? Indeed. Saracens will be taking on Worcester Worriers at Allianz Park. This will be one of the most interesting and high-impact games on the calendar this weekend. Will Owen Farrell be kicking for the Saracens? As you may know, Farrell sustained an injury to his foot at one of the Premiership games against Northampton Saints. This was sustained as a result of two extremely large and hard hits, which created some minor soft tissue damage to his foot. This gave him terrible pain that made it uncomfortable for to kick. Will Alex Goode be kicking in this weekend’s game? We will have to wait and see, but if so, it may prove impacting. Will we have the pleasure to see the Ash Splash in this game? I hope we do!

With a kick off at 15:15, Sale Sharks are pitted against the Leicester Tigers. This will be another hard-hitting, intense game, as both teams have strong line-outs. The Tigers have players such as the Youngs brothers to help them try and bet the Sharks at AJ Bell Stadium. The game will be televised on BT sport, and is certainly one to watch.

Finally, the Exeter Chiefs will try and conquer Harlequins at Sandy Park at 14:00 on Sunday 4th May. The captain of England will be in the role of captain of the Quins–the famous Chris Robshaw. Chris is an amazing leader for the Harlequins as he has seen them through a lot of wins. Also, Danny Care admirably plays the position of scrum half for the Harlequins, as well as for England. He is a well established player that has all the skills to help Quins get on the score board against Exeter. Harlequins boast several more England players such as Joe Marler and Mike Brown. They have an extremely strong team that is sure to cause headaches for Exeter. Exeter will have a fight on their hands if they are to gain much needed points.

This weekend will be fully-packed with some amazing games. With only 2 rounds to go until the end of the Premiership, the drama is at its peak and us fans need only sit back and enjoy.
