When the Cleveland Browns fired head coach Rob Chudzinski earlier this month after just 10 months on the job, they figured that replacing him would be easy. Surely there were a number of highly qualified candidates ready to take over the prestigious job of NFL Head Coach.
Well, it seems the job of NFL Head Coach is not so prestigious when it comes with having to coach the Cleveland Browns.
Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase and Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, have both pulled themselves out of the process and said they do not want to be candidates for the job, preferring to stay in a co-ordinator role with their current teams. This could have been the first head coaching job for both candidates. Former Broncos head coach and current Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has also pulled out of the process. Packers quarterbacks coach Ben McAdoo accepted the job of New York Giants offensive coordinator when he was still scheduled to be interviewed for the Browns job, and Lane Kiffin took the job of University of Alabama Offensive Coordinator before he could be interviewed.
It would seem that the job of Cleveland Browns head coach might be amongst the most unwanted jobs in sports.
