Washington Valor look to improve after Dismal First year

For the 2018 AFL season, the Washington Valor have returned for another shot at an ArenaBowl title. Last season, the Valor went 3-11 and missed out on the postseason.

This season, the Washington Valor look to make the 2018 AFL Playoffs, to do that, they bring back Dean Cokinos as head coach. In his five previous seasons as coach, he has a record of 33-50 with a 1-2 postseason record.

As for player signings, they got probably one of the best modern era arena football quarterback Nick Davila (A.K.A. The Latin Lazer). Davila was the Arizona Rattlers star quarterback from 2010-2016 winning multiple ArenaBowls. In 2017, he retired from arena football and signed with the Rattlers as the quarterbacks’ coach. Now a year later, he has a change of heart, came out of retirement and signed with the Washington Valor this season. In his career, he has completed 67 percent of his passes, 32,616 yards, 766 touchdowns, 19 interceptions.

Another big named player that the Washington Valor has signed is wide receiver, T.T. Toliver. Toliver has bounced around the AFL since he’d entered the league in 2003. In his career, he has racked up 1241 receptions, 16,293 yards, 314 touchdowns.

If the Washington Valor wants to win an ArenaBowl, they not only have to have good players to sign with them, but they have to get through a gauntlet of games. This season, the Washington Valor have to compete in a 13-week regular season with one bye week. Here is the Washington Valor 2018 regular season schedule:

in 2017, the Washington Valor and Baltimore Brigade faced off four times. Washington is 3-1 against the Brigade. The Valor are 2-0 at home and 1-1 on the home against Baltimore.

As for the series history of the Soul and Valor, they have only played in two games. In those two games, the Soul has won both meetings.
