The 2017 United Bowl is right around the corner as the Arizona Rattlers will travel to South Dakota to take on the Sioux Falls Storm this Saturday at 5:05 p.m.

The Storm are six-time defending United Bowl Champions and are the favorites coming into this one, but the Arizona Rattlers are prepared for an upset.

Why the Arizona Rattlers will win the United Bowl

The two teams met each other in the first game of the season, as Sioux Falls came out victorious 40-29.

However, the teams looked a little different during that meeting.

After transitioning from the Arena Football League to the Indoor Football League (IFL) the Rattlers started their season off 4-4.

Since then, Arizona has rattled off nine wins in a row, including last week’s Intense Conference Championship where the Rattlers took down the Nebraska Danger.

Now, back in a championship game as they were last season when the team was in the Arena Bowl, Coach Kevin Guy’s team is ready to go.

The Rattlers started the season off with Darron Thomas at quarterback, but would later transition to Cody Sokol – who has made his mark with the team.

Sokol took over before Arizona’s matchup with Wichita Falls, and nearly upset the Nighthawks in his first IFL game.

Since, he has won 11 out of 12 games.

Sokol hasn’t done it all alone though, his leading receiver, Anthony Amos, sits in the top five in the league in touchdowns with 19.

As for something that has stayed more consistent through the season – Darrell Monroe will be carrying the ball for Arizona on Saturday.

Monroe, by both appearance and statistics, has been the best running back in the IFL this season, leading the league in yards per carry with 55.2 yards per game.

Sokol brings a heavy passing attack, while Monroe has the rushing, giving the Arizona offense a true dual-threat presence.

For the Rattlers to upset the Storm, it’s going to take a flawless game from the offensive unit.

The Storm have shown time and time again that to beat the legendary team, opponents would have to play mistake free football.

If Sokol and Monroe can play the games that they have played over the last couple weeks, then Arizona will walk out with a victory.
