Tennessee Titans Sign Wide Receiver Andre Johnson

Wide receiver Andre Johnson signs with the Tennessee Titans on a two year deal after 12 seasons with the Texans and just one with the colts.

Former Houston Texans star wide receiver Andre Johnson is on the move after just one season with the Indianapolis Colts. This time, he is signing with the Tennessee Titans on a two-year deal to start off his 14th season.

He is staying in the AFC South for another season, but on his third different team.

Over his career, Johnson has 14,100 yards on 1,053 receptions, along with 68 touchdowns in 185 games. He is ranked ninth all-time in receiving yards, just behind Reggie Wayne, and has been to the pro bowl seven times. Also, he has had seven seasons in which he totaled over 1,000 receiving yards.

Last season, Johnson was average with 503 yards on 41 receptions and only four touchdowns. His attempt to be a number two option behind T.Y. Hilton fell short, as Donte Moncrief emerged for the Colts.

As for the Titans, they are adding another veteran in addition to Harry Douglass that will provide great mentoring for all of their young receivers.

Johnson should be just behind Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter on the depth chart, assuming he makes the team. Nothing in the NFL is guaranteed, however, so he must show that he has some talent left.

With a great young quarter back going into just his second season, Marcus Mariota, and a below average receiving group, Johnson should be able make great contribution to the organization.

Reviving a Career

Andre Johnson is looking for a fresh start after the worst season of his career. Being forgotten about is not something that he wants to happen, so he is on a mission to try and prove that he still can be the all pro caliber player he was with the Houston Texans. Look for him to push harder than ever, in what could be his possible last attempt at staying in the NFL.
