Milwaukee Bucks Set To Re-sign Miles Plumlee To 4-Year Deal

The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to re-sign restricted free agent center Miles Plumlee to a 4-year deal, worth $52 million.

The deal was first reported by ESPN.com’s Marc Stein. Mark Bartelstein‘ Plumlee’s agent, made this statement, “Plumlee and the Bucks have come to terms on a four-year, $52 million deal.”

Bucks Re-sign Miles Plumlee

Plumlee was traded by the Phoenix Suns during the 2014-15 season, in a deal that saw the Bucks acquire Michael Carter-Williams in a three-team trade.

Plumlee averaged 5.1 points and 3.8 rebounds last season for the Bucks. Plumlee played 61 games last season, but only started 14.

Last season was one of two halves for Plumlee. From the beginning of the season, Plumlee was the forgotten man at the end of the Bucks bench. He averaged just 3 points and 2.5 rebounds during the first half of the season. But after the all-star break, head coach Jason Kidd clearly had a change of heart. Plumlee went one to play more minutes in the Bucks rotation and his averages went up as a result. After the all-star break Plumlee averaged 7.7 points and 5.3 rebounds.

“I’m just really thankful for the opportunity to get out there and play,” Plumlee had previously said to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “I love the game. I love the team here. I think we’re building something really special and I hope to continue to be a part of it.”

Plumlee is clearly excited about his future with the Bucks and with the team having one of the best young rosters in the NBA, Plumlee has good reason to be.

Plumlee is heading into his fifth season in the NBA. After signing this deal Plumlee will hope to become more of a permanent fixture in the Bucks rotation. Competition for minutes will be tougher than ever, with the Bucks front court becoming crowded over the off-season.

Plumlee was drafted 26th overall by the Indiana Pacers in 2012, out of Duke University.
