For the second straight game, Nick Weiler-Babb lead his team to a win in way of a triple-double. However, the will-be Iowa State sophomore was injured with eight minutes to go in the game when he collided with his teammate. He was ok, but would leave the game and not return to the court.

Johannes Dolven, Daric Lang, and Luke Vaske picked up the pace and each lead the team with 21 points to hand the Des Moines Outreach Lions Club their first loss on the season.

During the game, the Lions Club’s Matt Tiby would talk to himself, but not being too shy enough to do so yelling, “Good Move, Tiby,” after making a lay in. He lead his team with 33 points and 14 rebounds.

Canandian Naz Mitrou-Long and SWCC sophomore Malachi Canada lead their Phoenix RR team with 39 and 28 points respectively. Coming back from being down by 12 in the second half, they kep Hannah Homes out of the ‘win column.’

“It was real good to score 28, I really never really care about how much points I score, I just like playing hard and as a team,” Canada said. “But what made us come back was how we stuck together, played together and made plays for each other offensively and defensively.”

Graham Woodward and Deonte Burton lead Hannah Homes with 27 points each.

Billy Wampler, Simeon Carter, and Terrence Bush made their presence felt during Sunday Night’s YCCL slate. Using a barage of dunks and higher percentage shots, the trio lead Tim Vorland to a win over Renaissance Granite & Quartz.

Former Cyclone Daniel Edozie returned to the YMCA Capital City League, scoring ten points and earning six rebounds.

“I got to get back into game shape,” Edozie said. “I’ve got to get my feet wet and get back into rhythm again.”

Although, that was a loud ten points by Edozie, who threw down some rim-rattling dunks. “I mean at least I still got my bounce,” he said.
