MLS Pick ‘Em 2016 Week 14 – San Jose Earthquakes vs. Los Angeles Galaxy

MLS Pick ‘Em 2016 Week 14 – San Jose Earthquakes vs. Los Angeles Galaxy

Last week, our experts predicted goals a plenty. We were instead treated to a bit of a snoozer. Here are the updated standings.

Player Points Correct Outcome Incorrect Correct Score
Eric Walcott 14 6 6 4
Joseph Goldstein 8 4 8 2
Matt Pollard 8 4 8 2
Russ McKenzie 6 4 8 1
Joe Hojnacki 4 2 10 1
Ned Joyce 5 3 9 1
Daniel Sperry 3 1 11 1
Laura McFayden 0 0 12 0

This week, we have another Cali Clasico, albeit with a bit less flair as both teams will be without some of their pieces. The LA Galaxy are starting to sputter, and San Jose still hasn’t quite figured it all out. Are we in for another snoozer?

The Galaxy are without Keane and Zardes and probably also missing Gerrard and Dos Santos. San Jose are missing Wondolowski, and unlike last week in Orlando, this time they’re facing a good defense. LA will be on the road playing their 2nd game of the week, so they’ll be content to sit and defend, and unable to score.

It will not be the Classico we want but it’s the Classico we will get and emotions and tempers will still be high. A rough and tumble match with spotty highlights will marry old Mls and new Mls with the result being an entertaining tie

Matt Pollard

Both teams score in extra time. Because MLS.

SJ

Quakes only missing Wondo, Galaxy potentially missing many many more. SJ is deeper than in the past, so they should be able to pull out a result. They rarely disappoint at Stanford Stadium as well.

The Galaxy have looked generally disinterested in playing soccer with a lot of their talent out on international duty. The Quakes may be missing more, but they seem to have more desire at this point.

LA are just a star studded cast of duds this season. SJ has some fight and isn’t missing as much for Copa America. It’ll be.. A game.

Both teams are still running kind of flat. Don’t expect this one to tip heavily either way.

Someone on SJ will miss a volley in Wondo’s absence in the closing minutes.
