Suns T.J. Warren To Miss Rest Of The Season

Phoenix Suns forward T.J. Warren is set to miss the rest of the NBA season with a broken foot.

Phoenix Suns forward T.J. Warren is set to miss the rest of the NBA season with a broken foot. The injury to Warren, the Suns 2014 1st round draft pick, is yet another injury blow for a struggling Suns organization.

Warren, who can play either the small forward or power forward positions, has been struggling with a right ankle impingement and missed Sunday’s 91-78 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.  That loss former head coach Jeff Hornacek lose his job the next day.

Warren has averaged 11 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 47 games so far this season, solid numbers for a second year player. Warren regularly comes off the bench to provide the Suns with size and scoring.

T.J. Warren is added to the already long list of injured Suns. Point guard Eric Bledsoe will miss the rest of the season with a torn meniscus in his left knee, and guards Ronnie Price (toe) and Brandon Knight (groin) will also miss at least a couple of weeks.

The Suns can’t seem to catch a break, with loss after loss following injury after injury . The team just seems to be incapable of recovering from what has been a terrible run of form. The Suns currently sit 13th in the Western Conference with an overall record of 14-35. They have just two wins in their last 21 games.

Newly appointed interim head coach Earl Watson will be set with the difficult task of turning this Suns team around. The Suns do have an opportunity to rebuild, go young, and plan for the future. T.J. Warren should be a part of the rebuild, as the team has already exercised the forward’s team option.

The Suns play tonight against the Toronto Raptors in Phoenix, a game which will see Earl Watson make his head coaching debut.
