There has been a lot of talk about the Dallas Cowboys 2015 season being over. Looking at it right now, that is essentially true. Is it mathematically true? No, but for them to make the playoffs now, they will probably need to win all of their remaining games. Possible? Yes. Probable? No. There are people out there anointing Tony Romo as the man that will come in and automatically save the season. Sorry, but this team is sitting at 2-6 and 2-2 in the NFC East right now. In any event, Romo has shown us before he can string together wins, but it’s much more than that at this point. Now it’s a matter of Romo doing his magic and praying for other teams to do the Cowboys a favor, which as any Cowboys fan can tell you, doesn’t happen often. Either way, many Cowboys fans out there are staying positive, but the question is, are they onto something?
Dallas Cowboys 2015: Is The Season Over?
The NFC East is by far the weakest division in the NFL right now. The New York Giants are going up against what seems to be an unbeatable New England Patriots team, so many Cowboys fans are hoping for a loss there. The Philadelphia Eagles are going up against the Miami Dolphins, and considering they went to overtime against Matt Cassel, the Eagles should not overlook anybody. Then there are the Washington Redskins, who will have to face a Saints team that has seen Drew Brees turn back the clock. This weekend really can be the turning point in the season for the Cowboys. If, and its a big if, the Cowboys can be the only NFC East team to win this weekend, it could bring back some confidence and take a little bit of pressure off Romo upon his return next week. The Eagles still have to play the Patriots, so this leaves some wiggle room for Romo to pull off a miracle. Writing off the Cowboys in this weak division is something you really do at your own peril. The Giants have yet to start their midseason slide, which seems to occur every single year, and a loss to the Patriots could spur that. The Eagles don’t look anything like the preseason champions that they were, and the Redskins are having problems figuring out which running back to use. The Cowboys next three games are going to be very telling, and with a little help from the rest of the division, this team could be 5-6 after Thanksgiving with a chance to win the division. With a healthy Tony Romo who hasn’t had the wear and tear of another season on him, and Dez Bryant seeming to find his groove again, anything is possible. There is a small glimmer of hope for this team who has had a season to forget, but that hope goes through Raymond James Stadium this week.
