Two losses to RSL bookend 3 straigh wins for KC. The good news is, they have only lost 4 times this year. The bad news? LA followed up a dominant win with a stinker in Houston. Defending from the wings will need to be improved, but pressure from the midfield in general must be better. Gerrard showed that there is still work to be done to acclimate. | 4-2-0 | 1 | -2 |

DC did well to comeback from 2 down against Philly, but what happened in that first 5 minutes? Whatever it was, they need to figure it out. NY dropped by virtue of having the week off. Still had a crazy week. Losing to the Union in the USOC, and beating Chelsea and Benfica in the ICC. Probably not how they expcted those three to go. New signing Shaun Wright-Phillips will offer a new dimension in the attack, but will his inclussion break up team chemistry? | 4-2-0 | 5 | -1 |

Columbus Crew SC |
When you have a 3 goal lead, surrendering it will see you drop down on the list. Luckily for Columbus, their body of work over the past month pushed them up the table. Kamara has been terrific this year though and just keeps finding himself in great spots. | 3-1-2 | 9 | +2 |

Toronto FC |
No lead is safe against Toronto thanks to their dynamic offense, but asking your team to win by outscoring the opposition every week is a dicey game. In their last 4 games they have surrendered 12 goals. You cannot win MLS Cup leaking goals. Renforcements might be on the way, but there is a lot to clean up. | 2-1-3 | 6 | -2 |

City is in the same place that Toronto is in. While they can score in bunches, if teams shut down their offense, they cannot hang in games defensively. This problem will not be eschewed with a corps of again players. Pirlo is definitely showing what he brings/lacks in just his first 35 or so minutes. He entered a 2-1 game and opened up both defenses with his passing and lack of defending. | 3-2-1 | 10 | -1 |

WTF Houston? They beat LA in a dominant win, and drew the Fire in the last month. No clue what to make of them, but sitting in 14th seems right still. | 2-3-1 | 14 | +2 |

Montreal Impact |
While a win against the recently awful Sounders is not much to celebrate, Montreal shows they can be shrewd defensively at times. Ciman might just be defender of the year, and his contributions to the offense are an added bonus. Portland Timbers |
A couple of weeks ago Portland was flying high. Now they are sinking down, down, down. What happened? Road games. Timbers need to figure out a way to win on the road. No matter how good the home field advantage is, champions must prove themselves away to hoist the trophy. Fun fact, Timbers are tied with the second worst road goal differential in the entire league along with LA, and Philly. | 2-3-1 | 7 | -7 |

Hey we were just talking about them. Philly took a big gut punch dropping a game with a 2 goal lead after just 5 minutes. This week they can regroup at home against an opponent they have been dominating, the New York Red Bulls. I can already see the outcome. The Union will be out shot 40 to 2, but will win the game 2-1. | 2-3-1 | 13 | -2 |

San Jose can be brilliant at times, but they break down far too easily and surrender a lot of goals, especially on the road. Worst GD in the west and second worst on GF. Not going to turn too many heads that way. | 2-4-0 | 17 | +1 |

The Fire have the worst PPG in the entire league. Going months between wins will not get you off the bottom of the table. Orlando is in a tailspin with 3 straight losses. The home loss to Red Bull might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back. Kaka can perform miracles, but he isn’t young enough to carry the team the way Giovinco can. Defense is killing them right now, and they need Cyle Larin to perform like he did on Sunday to start turning things around. | 1-4-1 | 16 | -2 |

While we question what happened to New England’s defense, we know what happened to Seattle’s offense. Lack of depth up top is in full view. Maybe unloading Kenny Cooper was a poor move, even if he did go down injured this year. With the Gold Cup over, Seattle will face a question not unlike one the USMNT is facing: How can we win without all of our offense coming from Deuce? | 1-5-0 | 20 | 0 |
