1

Sporting Kansas City

They may have lost RSL last weekend, but winners of 3 of the last 4 and hadn’t lost since April. Yea, they are playing pretty darn well right now. 4-1-2 5 4
2

Vancouver Whitecaps FC

The Whitecaps are back to their winning form from earlier in the season and earned impressive results on the road in 3 consecutive wins. 4-2-0 2 0
3

Portland Timbers

Timbers had a strange blight midweek, but they are no doubt one of the hottest teams in the league. If it were up to me alone, they would be further up this list. 5-1-0 3 0
4

DC United

Second in PPG, but leading the league for the Shield. While they have played more games than everyone in the league, they are winning a lot of those games. Still think they need to prove it against better competition though. 4-3-1 1 -3
5

LA Galaxy

LA followed up two incredible performances with a bit of a stinker. Still, it should be seen as a stumble and not a fall. Still look impressive since the arrival of Lletget. 4-2-2 6 1
6

Toronto FC

Toronto is all over the place on this list. Good results against Montreal and DC help, but they need to find consistency to be considered a top team. Probably need to figure out their defense too. 3-1-2 12 6
7

San Jose Earthquakes

San Jose just went and beat Seattle and LA in back to back games. If that doesn’t stake their claim, I’m not sure what will. 3-1-2 7 0
8

Orlando City SC

While beating the Rapids shouldn’t be considered a great achievement, the truth is, this team has been playing quite. They have only lost twice since mid-May. Kaka making things happen, but the role players around him are just as important to Orlando’s success. 3-1-2 10 2
9

Montreal Impact

What is it with the East Coast Canadian teams? All over the map with results making it very difficult to get a good read on them. Still, they have been about middle of the pack, so this is a good spot for them. 3-2-1 8 -1
10

New York City FC

City got a taste of the Red Death this weekend. After impressing in the first half, they completely imploded and officially became the second best team in NY. Lucky for them, it was their first loss in the last 3, and only their second in their last 6. 3-2-1 11 1
11

Houston Dynamo

Seems like beating the Red Bulls might be bad luck for all but the Whitecaps (so far). Houston seemed like they were turning a corner. Their loss to Dallas on Friday seemed lifeless. Need to find some answers. 2-3-1 13 2
12

Philadelphia Union

The next team cursed by beating the Red Bulls. Ok, it’s ridiculous, I know. But they have wins over Seattle and Columbus, and losses to NYC, LA, and DC. It doesn’t make sense to me either. Philly needs to take a step back and find themselves. 2-3-1 14 2
13

Seattle Sounders FC

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Three straight losses to Portland, Philly, and San Jose see Seattle slide. Worse than that, they managed to score but a single goal in each of those games. Sigi needs to find a way to score without the stars. 2-4-0 4 -9
14

New York Red Bulls

RBNY seems to have righted the ship now with back to back wins. While a midweek RSL win felt like frustration, beating NYC on the road was jubilation. It marked the first time the Red Bulls have scored more than 2 in a match all year. 2-4-0 18 4
15

Columbus Crew SC

Midweek win followed by a late draw on the road are both encouraging, but both of the other teams involved are below them on this list. Confidence should be growing now though. 1-2-3 19 4
16

New England Revolution

No team has cooled off more than the Revs. They have still won just once in the last two months. That is not a good sign for New Englanders hoping to see a run to MLS Cup Final again this year. 1-4-1 9 -7
17

FC Dallas

Dallas broke their streak of games without a win with a good showing against in-state rivals Houston. Now will it kick start their results? 1-3-2 20 3
18

Real Salt Lake

Bad week to be a RSL fan. Two red cards (regardless of merit) in the midweek, and a late equalizer deprives the struggling team of a valuable 3-points. The win against KC seems distant. 1-3-2 15 -3
19

Chicago Fire

Lost 4 straight now. Trouble is blowing in the windy city. 1-4-1 17 -2
20

Colorado Rapids

Mastroeni surely must be starting to wonder if the clock is ticking. DP’s not performing, and the team just isn’t finding the net. Just 8 goals in their last 12 games now. 0-4-2 16 -4
