Streaming Pitchers: 6/26/2015: Are you looking for someone for a spot start? Here are some low-owned options that should be available on your waiver wire.

I somehow missed that Ivan Nova was returning to the rotation last night from the DL, so Adam Warren’s start will be pushed back today. If you have him in your lineup, I would suggest getting him out if it’s not too late, as he’s facing a hard-hitting Astros lineup in Houston. I do not think he would fare well there. Clay did pretty good yesterday, though, going 7.0 IP and allowing one run on eight hits and one walk, striking out seven. Not too shabby for the sometimes-ace of the Red Sox. Now, on to tomorrow’s streaming pitchers!

Trevor May RHP MIN (@ MIL)

Trevor May is another example of a pitcher whose ERA makes him look worse than what his true skill level is. He’s got the stuff to start, as all of his pitches are at or above average according to Kiley McDaniel of FanGraphs. He’s had issues with the bad luck bug, as his .333 BABIP might suggest. His xFIP and SIERA both sit around 3.70, making him a better than average pitcher by those indicators. I would go ahead and use him in this matchup against the Brewers, as even though they are at Miller Park, the Brew Crew only hit an 82 wRC+ at home and a 79 wRC+ against righties. I wouldn’t hesitate to use the young pitcher in this spot.

Tim Hudson RHP SF (vs. COL)

Old Pitcher Alert! The scary part of using him in this start is that they want to shut him down and put him on the DL after in order to get him some rest before the last half of the season. The injury he’s listed with is general soreness, or as I like to call it, getting old. Even still, I wouldn’t worry about giving the near 40-year-old pitcher at AT&T Park against the Rockies. Even though his strikeout rate is down for the third year in a row, he’s still got great control (2.21 BB/9) and an excellent ground ball rate (57.5%). The Rockies have looked lost once again outside of Coors Field, with an 83 wRC+ on the road. This is one matchup that the old man should be able to put away just fine.

Good luck and happy streaming!
