Timbers Loan Six Players to T2 in Advance of Sunday Game at Providence Park

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers today announced they have loaned forward Gastón Fernández, midfielders George Fochive and Michael Nanchoff, defenders Jeanderson and Norberto Paparatto, and goalkeeper Andrew Weber to T2 in advance of Sunday’s match at Providence Park against Orange County Blues FC; kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (Pacific).

Timbers midfielder Will Johnson, who started and played 63 minutes for T2 in a 2-0 win against Arizona United SC on April 25 in his first competitive match since sustaining a fractured tibia and fibula in his right leg on Sept. 27, 2014, again will be available for selection for T2tonight.

Fernández, 31, has made nine substitute appearances for the Timbers during the 2015 MLS season. Joining the Timbers before the 2014 season, the Buenos Aires native has logged seven goals and two assists in 41 career regular-season games for Portland.

Fochive, 23, has made four appearances (all starts) for the Timbers in 2015, including his MLS career debut on March 7 against Real Salt Lake. A third-round pick (No. 39 overall) in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, Fochive played seven games on loan with Sacramento Republic FC during the 2014 USL season.

Nanchoff, 26, appeared as a second-half substitute in Portland’s season-opening match against Real Salt Lake on March 7 before being sidelined by sports hernia surgery. The North Royalton, Ohio, native has made 11 appearances (8 starts) in all competitions since joining the Timbers in 2013.

Jeanderson, 23, is in his first season with the Timbers and has made two substitute appearances in 2015. The defender spent his entire career in his native Brazil before signing with Portland, playing for Cruzeiro de Porto Alegre, Santa Rita, São José de Porto Alegre and Rio Branco from 2011-14.

Paparatto, 31, joined the Timbers ahead of the 2014 season and has made 13 regular-season appearances (12 starts). Last season, Paparatto registered two goals in three appearances (all starts) in 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League play.

Weber, 31, made three appearances (2 starts) in regular-season play for the Timbers in 2014. Weber registered seven saves in two CONCACAF Champions League starts against Alpha United FC (Aug. 9) and C.D. Olimpia (Sept. 16) and also earned wins in consecutive 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches (June 17-24).
