2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Toro Rosso Review

2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Toro Rosso Review

The Toro Rosso squad continued their recent success during Sunday’s Malaysia Grand Prix, contending and beating their struggling counterparts at Red Bull. Max Verstappen became the youngest driver to score points in F1 with a seventh place finish. Team-mate Carlos Sainz Jr. finished eighth.

Verstappen qualified in sixth and became the first rookie to do so in over 50 years. Sixth, coincidentally, is the highest position in which his father ever qualified during his F1 career. Sainz Jr. started fifteenth, but quickly made up for it, climbing up the rankings.

Both Toro Rosso cars found their way to the top ten early in the race, fighting with the Williams and Red Bull cars. They teetered in and out of the top ten, while fans were paying attention to a brilliant fight for first place between Hamilton and Vettel.

Both Red Bull cars had break issues throughout the race, and at one point were forced to pit and came out in ninth and tenth. The Toro Rossos took advantage and moved along to their seventh and eighth place battle.

Max Verstappen made the pass on Sainz Jr to finish seventh and the two finish the second round of 2015 tied with six points.
