Treble Radio Welcomes Jim Keoghan to talk Everton

Evertonian Jim Keoghan joins Treble Radio to discuss Everton's struggles this year and talk about his book.

Welcome to Treble Radio – a North American based radio show talking all things Premier League. We may not be European, but we think we know a fair bit about soccer (sorry, football) and even if we don’t we’re going to pretend that we do.

Join Arslan, Laura, and Eric every Week as we discuss the latest in Premier League happenings.

This week on Treble Radio we’re joined by special guest Jim Keoghan. Jim is an Evertonian so we discuss Everton’s struggles this season and what he thinks has gone wrong. Is Martinez to blame? Which players are underperforming?

Jim is also the author of “Punk Football: The Rise of Fan Ownership in English Football,” so we talk for awhile about his book and what fan ownership looks like in English football today. Are fan owned teams a realistic option? What makes fan ownership different from the wealthy owners at the top of the Premier League?

THEN, we review last weekend’s Manchester United victory over Liverpool. Is United at a turning point? Does Liverpool have what it takes to finish Top 4? Find out this week on Treble Radio.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Laura was trained from birth to be a Nebraska Cornhusker Football fan. Unlike most Huskers, her dad played soccer and introduced her to that sport as well, which understandably stole her heart. Laura’s love for the Spice Girls and Harry Potter carried her love for soccer across the Atlantic to a team not unlike her Huskers, Manchester United. They were once great and believe they can be again, but it hasn’t really happened yet. Laura is also a fan of the MLS team Sporting Kansas City in the typical fashion of a Nebraskan: loving a KC team due to lack of anything at all in the state of Nebraska.

Eric Walcott is a Legislative Assistant in the Michigan House of Representatives by day, and a soccer fan 24/7. He’s played soccer his whole life and now covers MLS, Portland Timbers, and Arsenal for LWOS. Eric helped start the supporters group Sons of Ransom for NPSL club Lansing United because there’s nothing quite like standing in the crowd and supporting your local team every weekend. 4th place might not be a trophy, but THE FA CUP SURELY IS!

Treble Radio host, Arslan Siddiqui, is a Canadian who does not speak many languages, but he has definitely specialized in the language of the beautiful game. When his grasp of the language isn’t strong enough, he (tries) to substitute it with comedy. He is a Liverpool fan who started the ‘Anfield Alive’ column on Last Word On Sports, where he provides commentary and opinion on everything Liverpool and Premier League related. A university student and a young adult, he promises to provide entertainment and (a little bit of) knowledge!
