FANTASY CBB 3-4-15

I compare today’s slate to shopping in a store that has bargains everywhere. Some bargains are worth the price, but some are really just your mind telling you that the items are too cheap to pass up. Your goal when shopping today is to just buy what you need. Don’t waste money or let your wants get in the way of your final goal which is 240 fantasy points. With so much value across the board your mind will play tricks on you. I will not do the usual three-tier pricing players, as I want to make sure I give you all the necessary value plays you need. Building around this is the easy part, but figuring out which value plays pay off will be the key to cashing tonight.

FANTASY CBB 3-4-15

Top Value Plays

Matt Carlino -Guard Marquette. Price 6400

No surprise here. Price for price Carlino is the best play on the board. He has a very high floor and good ceiling. Coming back off injury he looked good, and will get all the run he can handle tonight with a good match-up at home.

Jalyn Patterson -Guard LSU. Price 5200

Patterson has been a value machine recently and Fanduel refuses to give his price a big uptick. At 5000 in his last game he was a must play and only 200 more doesn’t scare me away. He will have some easy assists and open looks throughout the night. Don’t let his last game fool you, Hamilton has good upside with a decent floor.

Troy Holsten Jr. -Guard South Florida. Price 5800

Holsten is the guy now in South Florida controlling the offense with Allen out of the picture. His usage was great in the last game without Allen, and expect no differences today. He has a good match-up with UCF tonight, and his ceiling his great for his tag. If his shot is off, he will not hit value, but the looks will be there all  night.

Isaac Hamilton -Guard UCLA. Price 5900

Hamilton is always in play at this price or below, because he is the point guard for a team that runs and scores. He is somewhat of a minutes eater, but with the high total for UCLA he cannot be out of the equation. I really like him in this spot to pick up easy assists and have open looks from beyond the arc.

Ruben Guerrero -Forward South Florida. Price 5000

In a game of bad front courts, something will have to give. Guerrero should be able to control the paint and do some damage in there. He didn’t have a great game vs UCF last time out, but I expect a better game from him here. With the 20+ minutes he receives he is a good option tonight against the small UCF front-court.

Matt Costello -Forward Michigan State. Price 4700

With only one dud in his last six games, at this price Costello is an option. The match-up is not great, but he does contribute enough all around to make value. Forward is a tough position tonight to nail on the head, so players like Costello should be in your radar.

Matthew Fisher-Davis -Forward Vanderbilt. Price 4700

While Fisher-Davis may be reliant on scoring to hit value, I like his chances tonight to score enough with surrounding peripheral stats to eclipse value. At home, he performs better and the minutes will be there. Vanderbilt is projected a nice total, so multiple players can be an option.

Miami Guards -Price 4500-5600

All of Miami guards are in play here. This include Reed, Lecomte, and Newton. Shots will have to come from somewhere, and at least one of these guys will hit value or even exceed it. I personally prefer to go elsewhere with my money just because I expect a lot of people to be here and really there are better plays tonight. Lecomte will be probably the highest of the three, but again I just like other value at guard.
